Own a rental?Between-tenant jobs, same prices as any house.Birmingham has been building houses since the 1822 John West Hunter House, the oldest frame house in Oakland County, and it never really stopped. Inside any of them the dryer run might be a short shot through a basement wall or a long climb with two bends, and the longer runs hold more lint.
Winter is when a Birmingham dryer works hardest, with the sledding hill open at Lincoln Hills and nothing drying on a line outside. On Loaded the vent is cleared at the winter visit, right as those heavy loads begin.
The schedule.
Once a year covers most houses. A long run with bends, or a laundry room on the second floor, wants it every six months. On Loaded it is done at the winter visit.
What the visit looks like.
The dryer comes away from the wall and the duct comes off its back. The whole run is cleared from the dryer to the outside wall, and the flap outside is checked to swing free with the dryer running. What the run looked like gets noted in the record.
